Information we collect and why

When you submit the mortgage questionnaire, we collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, home-buying plans, selected property types and occupancy preference, estimated purchase price and down payment, income range and sources, and estimated credit range. We use this information to provide and save the requested comparisons, connect you with a real estate professional as described below, operate and secure the service, and understand how the service is used. We do not collect Social Security numbers, bank credentials, or credit reports.

Affordability calculator entries stay in your browser unless you submit the optional Connect request. If you do, we collect your name, email address, required phone number, ZIP code, calculator inputs (including income, debts, down payment, estimated credit range, and housing-cost assumptions), displayed rate-benchmark details, and calculator results so we can save and deliver your request.

When you submit a cash-offer inquiry, we collect your property address, selling timeline, home type, bedroom and bathroom counts, interior and exterior condition, name, email address, phone number, and contact permission. We use these details to review your inquiry, connect you with a real estate professional, save and deliver the request, and follow up about selling options. Address-search text is sent to Photon, an OpenStreetMap-based address provider, and, when needed, the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder to return address suggestions. You may enter your address manually instead. We do not save unfinished cash-offer answers or the email-only step on our server.

We also collect limited usage information: page path, event and time, referring domain, campaign parameters, device and browser category, and random browser, visit, and questionnaire identifiers. We process an IP address to create a one-way security identifier for rate limiting, but do not store the raw address in analytics.

Who receives information

MyRatesToday receives submitted requests and keeps an internal notification copy. Companies that provide hosting, database, authentication, and email-delivery functions process information as needed to operate the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users.

Submitting the mortgage questionnaire or a cash-offer inquiry includes a request that one real estate professional may contact you about that inquiry by phone, text, or email. We currently send each request to one real estate professional, not multiple outside professionals. This contact request is part of submitting those forms, not a separate optional selection. Submission does not guarantee that anyone will contact you.

For a mortgage questionnaire, the professional receives your name, email, phone, ZIP code, whether you already work with an agent, buying stage, preapproval answer, selected property types, occupancy, purchase timeline, estimated purchase price, down-payment percentage, and whether you have owned a home before. We do not send the professional your income range or sources, estimated credit range, or browsing activity.

Using the affordability calculator does not itself send your entries to a professional. If you submit the optional Connect request, we send one real estate professional your contact details and the calculator inputs, benchmark details, and results described above, including income, debts, and estimated credit range. The affordability form permits a direct phone call or email about your inquiry; it does not ask for marketing texts or automated calls.

For a cash-offer inquiry, the professional receives your name, email, phone, property address, and the home and selling details you submit. MyRatesToday does not buy homes or guarantee that an offer will be made.

We do not currently sell leads or receive payment for introductions. If you separately opt in to Meta tracking on a completed cash-offer request, we share the contact identifiers and completion event described below for advertising measurement and remarketing; this may be considered sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. We do not send your property address, home details, selling timeline, mortgage answers, or financial information to Meta as event parameters. We do not send your questionnaire information to displayed banks or lenders. If you leave our site for a lender's or professional's website, that party's own terms and privacy practices apply.

Browser storage and retention

We use necessary access and authentication cookies, local storage for a random analytics identifier, and session storage for visit identifiers and questionnaire progress. You can clear these through your browser. We do not save abandoned questionnaire answers on our server. For a completed cash-offer request with separate Meta opt-in, we briefly keep only hashed contact identifiers in that tab's session storage to pass them to the isolated “Request received” document; we remove them there before loading the Meta Pixel. If the receipt is never opened, the data remains in that tab until you close it or clear browser storage. Meta may place or read advertising cookies and process device, browser, page, and network information under its own privacy policy.

Submitted mortgage questionnaires that include a real estate contact request, related recommendations, consent records, and delivery records are scheduled for deletion from our service database after five years. Older questionnaires submitted without a real estate contact request are scheduled for deletion after 24 months. Affordability contact requests and cash-offer inquiries, with their related delivery records, are scheduled for deletion from that database after five years. Analytics events are scheduled for deletion after 25 months and rate-limit records after two days. Rate history does not contain visitor information.

These database schedules do not automatically remove copies of notification emails already sent to MyRatesToday or the real estate professional. The professional may retain their own copy under their independent practices. We review requests concerning information we control, including email copies, and may retain information where permitted or required by law.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, or withdraw permission for further contact, by emailing privacy@myratestoday.com. We will verify and review your request in accordance with applicable law. Withdrawal cannot undo a disclosure already made. If a professional has received your request, tell that professional directly if you want them to stop contacting you or to address their copy of your information. We may retain limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary to document consent, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or protect legal rights.

Meta advertising tracking is separate from permission to contact you. Leave the optional box unchecked on the cash-offer form to decline it; your request can still be submitted. We also honor a Global Privacy Control opt-out signal by not loading the Meta Pixel even if the box was checked. For questions about data already shared with Meta, contact us at the address above. Clearing advertising cookies or changing browser settings does not undo an earlier disclosure.

California online tracking disclosure

Only after a cash-offer request is accepted and you check the optional Meta advertising box do we load the Meta Pixel on the “Request received” screen. We send a PageView and Lead completion event to Meta (Facebook), along with your hashed email address, first and last name, and phone number for matching. We hash those identifiers in your browser before passing them to Meta's script; hashing does not make them anonymous to Meta. Meta may also receive your IP address, browser identifiers and the page URL when its script runs. Meta can use this information to measure ads and support remarketing across services. We do not activate this tracker elsewhere on MyRatesToday. A Global Privacy Control signal blocks this sharing; we do not respond to the separate browser Do Not Track signal.
